One of the most popular features within ChurchApp is the ability to easily communicate with church members. At present, we send out roughly 4 million emails and 600,000 SMS messages each year, making communication incredibly popular!
Over the past couple of months, we've revisited the flow and functionality of our communication tools to try and ensure that they're easy to use and offer the functionality that you need. Today, we're pleased to announce some major updates to our email tools that we hope will make the process even more productive:
With this feature we've massively expanded the ability for you to manage the recipient list for your emails. When composing an email, you'll notice that once you go through to preview the email you now have the option to add and remove recipients, as well as the ability to clear the list and start from fresh.
If ever you've wanted to email a group or tag but first remove a selection of recipients, you'll find this invaluable. Similarly, sending out the rota email to just a single person rather than everyone on the rota just got a whole lot simpler. Or maybe you're emailing a tagged group and you want to copy in the staff team or the Senior Leader - it's all so much simpler now!
As well as allowing you to add individuals to the list of recipients, you can also now add everyone from an Address Book tag too! After clicking "Add recipient" just begin typing the name of the tag, select it from the suggested list and you're done!
We've also made it possible to email out reports generated in ChurchApp with just a couple of clicks. To email out a report you simply select the "Send report" option listed under the "Communicate" button on the report itself. Sending reports to trustees, pastors and others within the church is now both beautifully simple and incredibly quick.
Finally, we've enabled the ability to track when an email you've sent through ChurchApp has been opened. When sending emails, it's often helpful to know that your message has been received and sometimes it's beneficial to know if a specific recipient has seen your message. With email open tracking within ChurchApp, you can see both an overview of the open rate percentage and, by clicking on the open rate numbers, you're the able to see which recipients have opened the email.
Please note that not all email clients support open tracking - email clients (e.g. Outlook, Hotmail) that have images in emails disabled by default can't be tracked. Where ChurchApp hasn't been able to track an email as being opened, it will be listed as "Unknown" (but may in fact have been opened).
These are just a few of the brilliant new features that we've been working on lately, and as always the best is yet to come! If you have any thoughts or suggestions for us, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.
