Day 7 - thoughts from the ChurchApp team
The dragon is defeated, the Saviour has come
Gavin
It’s not a passage I’ve ever heard included in a Christmas Day message, but I love the insight that Revelation 12 gives us to the spiritual battle that raged when the Son of God came to earth. So often we think of the shepherds, the angels, the wise men and the inn keepers being central to the nativity story, but Revelation 12 opens our eyes to the war that raged as the Saviour of the universe made his first steps to begin the journey of saving mankind. The language is dramatic, the “enormous red dragon” frightening, but the result is magnificent. Jesus has come, He has overcome the enemy, the Lamb has conquered, it is time to rejoice! This wasn’t just a cute baby being born to a young couple, this was an epic battle where the Child was born, the awaiting dragon was defeated and the King began to live amongst His people.
