Small groups within your church are an excellent way to get to know fellow church members and can help to develop a strong sense of community that can sometimes become lost in larger congregations. Providing groups with the tools that they need to flourish and expand their membership is therefore vital to helping to grow the church as a whole.
To help with this process, we've heard from a good number of churches who are beginning to make use of the Activate model of small groups (popularised by Nelson Searcy), which involves termly sign-up to groups, often based around a theme or activity. Today, we're pleased to announce support for group sign-up through My ChurchApp, a feature you can enable on just a selection or all your groups. It has never been easier for your church members to get involved with and sign up for a group that matches their interests!
Before your church members can start making use of this brilliant new feature, you will first need to ensure that you've configured the number of places and date range for sign-up for the necessary groups. Once you've completed the brief bit of setup required by this feature any church member with a My ChurchApp account will be able to log in and sign up for small groups through the "My Groups" section. There they will see a list of all the groups that are available for sign-up, along with a progress bar displaying the number of available space remaining in each group.
For the church member, all it takes is a single click for them to sign up to a group, and if they change their mind, they're able to cancel the sign-up and choose a different group instead.
