A beautiful calendar for your website

Embed a beautiful and functional church calendar in your website

Finding a beautiful as well as functional calendar for your church website can be a struggle. We know - we've been there! But, here's the good news: as of today, we believe we've taken a huge step towards helping churches have both!

First, some background

Lots of churches use the calendar in ChurchApp because, well, it's a calendar built for churches and as such it works really well. Plus, you get great features such as the ability to sign up to church events by text message, the ability to have "public" and "private" events, as well as the ability to manage your staff's leave allowance and sickness leave, and more. It is definitely a useful tool — that's why half of all the churches that use ChurchApp also use the ChurchApp calendar module.

One thing that has been on our Calendar development roadmap from the beginning has been the ability to embed it in church websites. Having heard the request come in from more and more of our customers over the past few weeks, we decided to move developing this feature up to the top of our list. The result of that is that we have something very exciting to announce today...

Now for the grand announcement

Yes, you guessed right: as of today, ChurchApp users can embed their church calendar in their websites! And if that doesn't get your juices flowing, you should definitely take a look at what we're talking about: Embed your church calendar. Scroll to the bottom of the page and have a play with our fully functioning demo...

If you've looked at other embeddable calendars you'll know straight away what a gem this is! (And if you haven't then we would encourage you to take a look around and make the comparison - it's worth it.) We've put in a huge effort to this feature because we know that church calendars draw people in and allow them to explore what your church is up to. But there is more...

Our vision for embeddable calendar

This is only the first step. In fact, we want the embeddable church calendar to become something that people can interact with. So here is a sneak peak at the features we're still working on, things that will be coming soon...

  • Event sign-up: this will enable church members to sign up to an event straight from the calendar on the church's website.
  • More information: website users will be able to contact a designated person for more info on the event. This will happen through a form and ChurchApp will handle sending the query to the designated person, which will help shield that person from spam.
  • Send yourself event info: this will enable users to easily email themselves the event info that they are looking at.

We hope you can now see why we're so excited about this development and the potential it holds for the future. As always, we'd love to hear feedback and suggestions!
